2019 Pilgrimage: Paul’s World & Mission


 

In 2019, Bishop Sudarshana Devadhar will lead a 10-day pilgrimage (Sept. 30 to Oct. 9, 2019)  to Greece exploring "Paul’s World & Mission." The pilgrimage is coordinated by the Society for Biblical Studies in Arlington, MA.

The journey is designed to provide an overview of the geographical, social, and cultural setting of Paul’s ministry and identify key ingredients in Paul’s missionary strategies.

Participants will have the opportunity to ...

  • become acquainted with the key issues in Pauline studies.
  • become acquainted with contemporary mission issues.
  • become acquainted with the concept of contextualization in missionary theory
  • understand the meaning of mission in the context of modern Greece
  • study Paul’s letters with an interest in learning the ingredients of community building for today’s churches: harmony in spite of differences, unity with diversity, managing diversity

The pilgrimage also includes an optional five days in Italy: "Biblical Backgrounds in Italy (Rome and Campania)" from Oct. 9-14, 2019 for an additional cost.

The cost per person is $3,384. A $300 deposit is due at the time of registration.  Deadline to register is July 5, 2019.
