Please keep the congregation of the Provincetown UMC and the family of Rev. James Cox in your prayers. Rev. Cox, 59, died on Sept. 9, 2019. He was serving the Provincetown (MA) UMC. Jim, a retired elder in the New England Conference, also served Massachusetts churches in Sudbury, East Longmeadow, Attleboro, and Malden.  

A traditional New Orleans “Second line” service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019. Friends will gather in front of the Provincetown Town Hall on Commercial Street and process to Provincetown UMC at 20 Shank Painter Road for a celebration of Rev. Cox’s life. A lunch in the church’s Hiebert Hall will follow.
