Starbuck, Harry

Rev. Harry L. Starbuck, 89, died on Jan. 18, 2013 in Watsonville, CA. Harry served three churches in the Oregon-Idaho Conference before moving to New England where he served the Hingham, MA church in the Southern NE Conference from 1959-1962, then Winthrop, Rockland and Green Street, Augusta churches in the Maine Conference from 1963-1974. He and Audrey moved to California where he served churches in Lindsay, Dinuba and Fremont before retiring. Audrey died in 1983 and Harry married Laura Lee Soldwich, with whom he shared 29 years of marriage.
Harry had been struggling with dementia for many months, but was able to be at home until Thanksgiving. He died peacefully at a convalescent hospital surrounded by family.
 
Harry is survived by two sons, Rev. Ed Farrell-Starbuck, pastor of the Shepherd of the Valley UMC in Scituate, RI, and Jeffrey Starbuck, four step-children, 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
 
A Memorial Celebration of Harry’s Life will be held on February 9, 2013 in Watsonville, place and time to be announced.
