Rev. John Pressey, a retired elder in the New England Conference, died on August 8th. John served churches in Skowhegan and St. Johnsville, ME as well as in Saugus, Ipswich, Everett, Lynn, Maynard, Beverly, and Salem, MA before retiring in 1982 . Please keep all of John's family in your prayers. John is survived by a son, Doane Pressey of Ipswich; five daughters, Carrilee Gerniglia & her husband Joseph of Salem, Laurie Shea & her husband Downey of Elliot, ME, Rachel Kilgour & her husband John of Ipswich, Deborah Viggiano & her husband Michael of S. Hamilton, Jaye Viggiano & her husband John of Pt. Pleasant, NJ; 17 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; a just like a daughter Denise Melanson of Beverly & his beloved Boston Terrier Lily. A Celebration of his Life Memorial Service, with an interpreter for the deaf and hearing impaired, will be held at noon Tuesday, August 12, in the First United Methodist Church of Hamilton, 391 Bay Rd., Hamilton. Family and friends are respectfully welcomed. Visiting hours are Monday 4-8 pm in the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High St., Ipswich, MA. His funeral and interment services will be private.
