George Hodgdon died on April 8, 2008. George was a Deacon in the New England Conference. He served several churches in Fall River in the 1960s, predecessor congregations to the current Union United Methodist Church. Since then he was a pastor on special assignment and a frequent guest preacher in the Cape, Fall River and New Bedford area. He attended seminary at Boston University, and in addition to serving churches he served at the Methodist Camp Ground Chapel as a Lay Preacher. He was also the office administrator for the Cape Cod AIDS Council and supported the New Bedford and other local churches in his retirement years. A Memorial Service followed by a Coalescing at the Centre Trinity United Methodist Church, 472 County St., New Bedford MA 02740 (508-992-2224) will be at 2 PM this Sunday, April 13, 2008.
