Elizabeth P. Moody, 93, wife of the late Rev. Roy Moody, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, July 3, following a brief illness. Betty married the Rev. Roy W. Moody on Nov. 28, 1934. Together they served Methodist churches throughout Maine, including New Harbor, Southwest Harbor, Hodgdon, East Boothbay, Newport, Bucksport, Brownville Junction, Gorham, Gardiner and Berwick. Betty was an active member of Highland Avenue United Methodist Church in Gardiner, Maine. She is survived by three children, Gail Vencill and her husband, the Rev. Gary Vencill, of Prospect, Ann Tillotson and her husband, Richard Tillotson, of Kennebunk, and Donald Moody and his partner, Donald Chimera, of Augusta; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, a niece and a nephew. A memorial service will be held at Highland Avenue United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 15.
