L. Pearl Budd, 94, wife of the late Rev. George Budd, died April 7, 2005, at Caribou. She was born June 15, 1910, near the Atlantic Ocean in Come-by-Chance Newfoundland, the youngest of nine children of T. Archibald and Martha (Smith) Gilbert. Mrs. Budd served with her late husband at churches in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Newfoundland and Maine. She was a devoted and dedicated pastors wife for more than 60 years, and always exemplified the highest principals and standards of that role. She was a member of the Gray Memorial UMC. She was predeceased by her husband, George, in 1989. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Thelma and Robert Mockler of Caribou, and Edna and George Carr of Columbus, Ohio; five grandchildren, James, David and Stephen Mockler, Sue Farley and Marylee Carr; 14 great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou 12:30pm Sunday, April 10, 2005, until time of services. Funeral services will be held at 2pm at the funeral home with Pastor Lawrence Beals, nursing home chaplain, officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Friends who wish to contribute in memory of Mrs. Budd may do so through the Caribou Nursing Home or the Gray Memorial UMC memorial funds. Mrs. Budd's family wishes to express their most sincere gratitude to the staff of the Caribou Nursing Home for their very high standards, quality of care, and compassion given to her during her stay there over the last several years. We shall be ever grateful.
