Two staffers to retire after more than two decades

November 14, 2022

The New England Conference announces two retirements from the Conference staff.

Rosemary McNulty, who serves as administrative assistant to the Director of Connectional Ministries, Director of Congregational Development, and Director of Communications, will retire on Jan. 13, 2023.

JoAnn Watson, who serves as the Seacoast District administrative assistant, will retire on Dec. 31, 2022.

Rosemary joined the Conference staff on July 8, 2002.

"Rosemary has served the Conference for 20 years, in a variety of ways. Much of the time was 'running' the second floor of the Lawrence building, coordinating with program staff, managing the resource library, going on the road for events, and keeping the ministries organized," said Rev. Rick McKinley, Director of Congregational Development. "She has been a faithful and faith-filled member of the team and will surely be missed!"

“From the beginning of my employment at the conference office I knew that the Lord had placed me here for His purpose,” McNulty said. “I pray that I served Him well.”

JoAnn joined the staff of the Conference on June 25, 2001. She served as the administrative assistant in the former Connecticut Western MA District until 2020, when the districts were reorganized.

“I first met JoAnn as a recently arrived local pastor … I experienced JoAnn as a kind and knowledgeable person. JoAnn was always willing to help in any way that she could,” said Rev. Wanda Santos-Perez, Seacoast District superintendent.

“Today, 11 years since meeting JoAnn, I have the privilege to work with her as the district superintendent for

the Seacoast District,” she said. “As a newly merged district, the Seacoast District is in many ways still in a process of transition. JoAnn’s institutional memory and 21 years’ experience have been invaluable. She has always struck me as someone who loves what she does. I know I am not alone in saying that she will be greatly missed.”

“The mystery of yet a new journey and its blessings, until we meet again,” Watson said.

The Conference staff will celebrate their retirements at its annual Christmas gathering on Dec. 16. Please join us in wishing JoAnn and Rosemary well, and in praying for them and their families during this time of transition.
