In an effort to identify and assist United Methodist high school- and college-age Latin@ students to consider and prepare for vocations in ministry, Boston University School of Theology coordinates the Hispanic Youth Leadership Academy (HYLA) and Raices Latinas Leadership Semillero.
Scholarships are available for the following sessions:
- June 22-25, 2016 HYLA Michigan: High School students (at Adrian College)
- July 5-9, 2016 HYLA Boston: High school students (at Boston University)
- July 5-9, 2016 HYLA Chicago: College Students (at Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary)
- Aug. 2-6, 2016 Raices Latinas Leadership Semillero: college and seminary students (at Boston University School of Theology)
Applications available for HYLA at http://hylaumc.com/ If accepted, HYLA participants will receive a scholarship for housing, meals and ground transportation in the city where HYLA will take place. Participants will need to apply, send a $50 non-refundable application fee, and secure their own transportation to and from Boston. Recommend a student for the Raices Latinas Leadership Semillero by sending the name, contact information and a couple of sentences as to why you recommend the student to: Rev. Dr. Cristian De La Rosa at cdlrosa@bu.edu. Students will be contacted and interviewed by email. If accepted, they will be granted housing, meals and ground transportation in Boston. Participants will need to secure their own transportation to and from Boston.
