Please join us in congratulating New England Conference Historian Rev. Pat Thompson on receiving the 2022 Ministry of Memory Award, presented by the Board of the Historical Society of The United Methodist Church. Rev. Thompson, retired elder, serves the Wolcott (VT) United Methodist Church.
The award seeks to “recognize and encourage excellence in archival and historical work in the local church, annual conference, jurisdictional or central conferences.”
Rev. Thompson was nominated for the award by Nancy Noble, secretary of the Conference Commission on Archives & History.
“I feel very blessed and honored to have received this national award. Thank you, Nancy, for nominating me and for all the love and support you all [Conference Commission on Archives and History NE United Methodist Historical Society] have given over the many years we've been involved in the New England Methodist historical community together,” Rev. Thompson said.
The award was presented at the society’s annual meeting, held July 26-29 on St. Simons Island, Georgia. Rev. Thompson was unable to attend, but a video presentation by Rev. Dr. Doug Tzan, society vice president, was created.
