BOM welcomes leader for clergy assessment program

The Board of Ordained Ministry of the New England Conference is pleased to announce that Rev. Geniese Stanford will serve as the Shepherd of Manna, the NEAC’s Eight Year Clergy Assessment program.

The Eight Year Assessment program was mandated by the 2016 General Conference, and requires clergy to engage in a six-month process of personal and professional assessment and development every eight years. This position was approved by the 2019 Annual Conference as part of the 2020 Conference budget. 

Rev. Geniese Standford
In her role as Shepherd of Manna, Rev. Stanford is responsible for the implementation, administration and ongoing leadership of Manna. The first Manna cohort is planned to begin later this year. 
 
Rev. Stanford is an Elder in the Great Plains Conference, and brings 20 years of pastoral experience to this position, having served both urban and rural churches in Kansas.  

She is certified in Leading Out of Drama Conflict Transformation and is an adjunct professor at Kansas Wesleyan University teaching Wesleyan Heritage. Prior to entering the ministry, she held management and executive positions in IBM.

Rev. Stanford moved to the Boston area in the summer of 2019 to be close to her family, which includes her one-year old grandson.
