Applications for the 2016-17 Conference Merit Scholarship Award are now being accepted.
This award has the following requirements; applicants must:
- be a student from the New England Annual Conference attending any United Methodist-related institution in the United States
- have at least one-year membership in UMC. Membership is defined as being confirmed in a United Methodist church.
- have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher in your current high school or college.
This award is administered for the Conference by the United Methodist General Board of Higher Education and Ministry using the general scholarship application.

The GBHEM general scholarship application is open January 4 through March 1 each year. You need only to submit one application per year where it will be screened for all possible eligible programs
including the New England Conference Merit Award.
The Merit Scholarship Award is at least $500 and is funded by donations received from the national UM Student Sunday giving.
NOTE: This is not the application for the New England Conference General Scholarship Fund, which will be available in April 2016.
