Peace with Justice Sunday is June 15, 2014

June 04, 2014

How does your local congregation bring peace and justice to a fragmented, wounded world? Perhaps you do it through education, work with children and youth, anti-poverty initiatives or fundraising for peace with justice ministries in the conference.

When you offer the members of your congregation the opportunity to share in the churchwide Peace with Justice Sunday celebration, you provide a voice for members of The United Methodist Church to advocate for peace in your neighborhood and around the world. Half of the offering is reserved for ministries within our conference; the other half supports peace with justice advocacy nationally and internationally.

Contributions have far-reaching effects in the United States and around the world. They support ministries such as the West Virginia Council of Churches (WVCC) and many others. WVCC condemns mountaintop removal mining for what it does to the environment and raises support for families of miners who have died in accidents.

Peace with Justice Sunday is June 15, but can be observed any Sunday in June. We hope all churches will be able to participate in this special offering. We cannot do this work without your support.
