Simple Church fellowship available beginning July 2016
August 24, 2015
Simple Church (simpleumc.com), a new church start in Grafton, MA, is seeking applicants for a full-time salaried church-planting fellowship to begin in July 2016.
Zach Kerzee, pastor, describes Simple Church as: “An experiment in simplicity. We don’t have a building. We don’t have pews. We have a table where we eat good local food, sing songs, pray, and have conversations that matter. Simple Church Pastor Zach Kerzee

“We work with an organic farm throughout the week and run an artisan bakery to fund our ministry by selling at local farmers markets. On Thursday nights we share in a Eucharistic meal together using veggies from the farm and bread from the bakery.”
The fellowship is being created through a collaboration among Simple Church, the New England Conference, Congregational Development, and Path 1, a team that trains and supports church planters in The United Methodist Church. This is a full-time salaried position with health insurance and a parsonage.
The candidate would work with Simple Church for a year, then receive funding to start a second branch of Simple Church in New England.
“It’s really an incredible opportunity for an energetic, spiritual entrepreneur to create a funded, experimental faith community in New England,” Kerzee said. “We are entering into a multiplication phase as a church, so we are doing a nationwide search to find a candidate that would flourish in a Simple Church branch.”
The applicant must:
have completed an MDiv by July 2016
be ordained or on track to ordination
have a history of successfully starting new things.
Deadline to apply is March 16, 2016. To learn more and to apply please visit simpleumc.com/jobs.
