NE Chancellor attends bi-annual legal forum

May 13, 2015

The Legal Services Department of the General Council on Finance and Administration (GCFA), in conjunction with the United Methodist Church Conference Chancellors’ Association (UMC3), hosted the 2015 Legal Forum from April 30 to May 3 in Baltimore, MD.

William Hewig III, Esq., New England Conference Chancellor, was among the approximately 65 annual conference chancellors, annual conference treasurers, and others in the United Methodist connection participated in this education event.

“The bi-annual Chancellors’ Legal Forums (my Latin training tells me that word should be ‘Fora’) offer an opportunity for all of the country’s chancellors to meet, digest legal presentations on current topics, and enjoy fellowship together,” Hewig said. “Most importantly, however, they give chancellors a chance to get to know one another, and to benefit from the different legal experiences and practices which the various chancellors bring together.  …  The Chancellors’ ‘Forums’ are a good example of the connectional network working at its best (and working) for the benefit of the entire Church.”
