Disaster Response ministries present us with the challenge of being the church in the midst of difficult, sometimes tragic, circumstances. They also offer us unique opportunities to be present, as the church, in the midst of chaos, loss, and pain; to be part of the healing and recovery effort for individuals and communities; to engage local churches in a unique and meaningful form of outreach; and to offer those outside the church the opportunity to participate in hands-on ministry.
Being effective in responding to disaster requires planning. That's why we have developed the New England Conference Disaster Response Plan.
The response plan provides guidelines, suggestions, and, where appropriate, specific assignments for various personnel who will be involved with the implementation of activity in response to a disaster.
