Time: 7:00pm-9:00pm Please enter the Zoom conference about fifteen minutes early, first class, to become familiar with the audio/visual/shared document aspects of an online class.
How does this work: Fill out/send in registration. Prior to the first class, you will receive an email from the instructor with an invitation to the Basic Course. Click on the link in the email, the night of the class. You will be instructed how to accept the Zoom app on your computer (an icon of a white movie camera in a blue square), then you enter the class. The instructor will show you how to activate the microphone, the video, and any document sharing.
Assignment: One chapter per class. Read Chapter 1 prior to our first class and do the Biblical Reflection. Attendance at all five classes is necessary to receive a completion certificate.
Required texts: Lay Servant Ministries Basic Course Participant’s Guide (ISBN 97808817762) available from The Upper Room Bookstore or Cokesbury. Available in print or Kindle format. Participant is responsible for purchasing text. Check w/your church for possible scholarships.
