Basic Lay Servant Ministries Course:

"This course is foundational for all courses in Lay Servant Ministries. Participants are encouraged to discover and employ personal spiritual gifts as God intended and to consider the importance of exercising servant leadership, developing future leaders, remaining rooted in consistent spiritual practices, and being part of a group that holds members accountable in their discipleship."

Rev. Ralph Howe (First UMC Brattleboro) will facilitate the Basic Lay Servant Course in Brattleboro on Sundays, January 30, 12:30 – 5:30, and February 6, 12:30 – 5:30. Zoom will be available for hybrid participation. To register, please complete the registration form and return it with $15 (check payable to GMLSM) to Dawn Hill-Fleury (address is on the form). Order the Participants Book.

The BASIC course is an introductory course designed to equip new leaders and renew current leaders. This course covers the three main categories of Lay Servant Ministries: Leading, Caring, and Communicating. Its purpose is to equip us to be better church leaders - it is not a preaching course.

This is a refresher course for lay servants and a first course for anyone interested in becoming a Certified Lay Servant. To get credit as a Certified Lay Servant you must have completed the Basic course.
