Changing pastors is part of the connectional life of The United Methodist Church. The transition workshop is designed to support pastors and churches changing
appointments this year by easing stress and setting the groundwork for an excellent transition.
The CTWMA District Transition Workshop, will be led by District Superintendent Rev. Dr. David V. Calhoun.
Pastors and transition teams from the churches undergoing changes in pastoral leadership this year are expected to attend a transition workshop. Attendance is required.
Topics to be covered in three parts:
- Pastoral Transition
- Tools for the Transition
- Policies, Documents and Reminders
Who should attend: Each church should send 4-8 transition team members including the
current Pastor, Lay Leader, Staff Parish Relations Committee representatives, and others with skills for this work. Team members should be people who work well with others.
The work of the teams:
- manage the time table of leaving and entering tasks
- recruit members of congregation and assign responsibilities
