The vision for the altar space at the 2023 Annual Conference is that it will represent our Conference and its member congregations in our diversity — all our theologies, identities, ethnicities, ideologies, genders, etc.

We invite each congregation in our connection to contribute an item that represents them to be included on the central altar space on the dais.

Some examples: A quilt, a Bible, prayer shawls, garments from sewing projects such as Dress A Girl; shoes to represent a hiking group, instruments, signs in their native tongues. Think bright and bold! The altar will be messy and busy, but so are we as a people.

Those coming in person, please bring your contributions to the Expo Center (main plenary area) on Wednesday, June 7. Folks arriving on Thursday can bring their items to the Expo Center from 7-8 am.
