New England Conference clergy who began serving in cross-cultural/cross-racial appointments (CR/CC) as of July 1, 2022, or later and laity from these churches are invited to a learning session with the General Commission on Religion and Race (GCORR).
The ability of our clergy and laity to embrace and learn from others who are different from themselves is vital to the life of our Church. The intent of our gathering is to lift up the many blessings of CR/CC appointments as well as offer tools and strategies for dealing with the barriers and challenges.
The session will be led by M. Garlinda Burton, GCORR Director of Resource Development, and Rev. Dr. Troy Lynn Carr, Senior Specialist for CRCC Leadership & Partnership. Learn more about them
There will be a time for questions following the presentations.
This training is mandatory for clergy and strongly suggested for laity. To register, click the link above.
We hope that this time will help support our CR/CC appointed clergy and our laity receiving these pastors so that you may live into the fullness of what it means to be a beloved community.
