AC 2022 registration and voting FAQ
4/7/2022 3:30:00 PM

Now that registration for the 2022 hybrid Annual Conference session has been open for nearly a month, we have been fielding some questions about the registration and voting processes.  We are providing this FAQ to respond to some those.

If you have a question that’s not answered here, contact Annual Conference Registrar Joy Mueller at joyemueller@comcast.net

Also, be sure to watch the website (www.neumc.org/acsessions) and our weekly newsletter for all the latest news and information about this year’s Annual Conference.

REGISTRATION

WHO NEEDS TO REGISTER FOR ANNUAL CONFERENCE?
If you are a voting member of Annual Conference, you MUST register in order to get your voting credentials whether you are attending online or in person or a combination.*

The voting process using the GNTV platform, which we discuss below, is the same for those attending online and in person.

The registration fee is $100; there is a $25 discount if you pay in full by May 1. Registration closes May 18. There will be NO on-site registration.

If you are not a voting member, but wish to attend in person, you must register to ensure you get a name badge, meal options, and other important information for in-person attendees.

If you are not a voting member and do not plan to attend in person, you do not need to register. You can watch the proceedings via the livestream for free. The session will be streamed on the NEAC YouTube channel

*What if I want to attend only part of Annual Conference in person?
If you plan to attend even just part of the Annual Conference session in person, you need to register.

You should choose “in person” on the registration form to ensure you get a name badge, meal options, and other important information for in-person attendees even if you don’t expect to attend every day.

The registration cost is the same for online or in-person attendance. The voting process using the GNTV platform, which we discuss below, is the same for those attending online and in person.

VOTING

All voting members – online and in person – will be voting using the GNTV online voting system. It is the same one we used for our virtual sessions in 2021 and 2020. There will be no voting cards or show-of-hands votes. Remember, you must register in order to get your voting credentials.

How will we cast our votes?
There are no voting machines or devices. To cast your vote, you must have your own smart phone, tablet, or computer. If you are attending in person, you need to have your smart phone/tablet/computer with you in the plenary sessions.

What if I don’t have a smart phone/tablet/computer?
If you do not have access to a smart phone, tablet, or computer, indicate that on the Annual Conference registration form, and we will work with you to ensure that you will be able to vote.

Will I need Wi-Fi?
Yes. The conference will provide Wi-Fi access at the Expo Center for those attending in person. This service will be robust enough to support access for all in-person attendees.

Those participating online will have to provide their own internet access as in past years.

Will I be able to charge my phone/tablet/computer during the session?
You should try to begin each day with a fully charged device and take advantage of breaks to re-charge, but we will also provide multiple charging stations in and around the plenary space for those attending in person.
