Rev. Effie E. McAvoy, NE CORR chair

The New England Conference Commission on Religion and Race (CORR)  is offering a five-week course titled New England United Methodists Dismantling Racism (NEUMCDR).

This workshop is designed to help people who understand that racism is a deeply embedded problem in our society to:
● better understand how racism works
● understand their own role in systemic racism, including the opportunity they have to create change
● learn to speak up when they see racism
● develop personal action plans based on their gifts, abilities and resources.

If you’d like to learn more about the curriculum, please take a look at White People Challenging Racism (WPCR) which this workshop is based on.

The 10-hour course takes place over five weekly sessions on Thursdays through March 31. Time TBA

Co-facilitators Jane Allen and Stewart Lanier, are not racial equity “experts," but folks who have been on the journey of racial awareness and action in their own personal lives for some time, have offered this workshop many times, and have the gifts to help others focus on becoming anti-racist in heart and action.

Space is limited. Application deadline is Feb. 3, 2022.
