Scholarships Available for 2011 Youth Mission Programs
As United Methodist Action Reach-out Mission by Youth (U.M. ARMY) approaches its eighth year of mission work with youth and young adults in the Northeast, we have witnessed the joy and transformation that can and does take place within congregations that participate in quality mission programs with their youth. Thanks to a very generous matching grant from the United Methodist Foundation of New England as well as the generosity of past participants we are pleased to offer a scholarship opportunity to churches participating in our program for the first time in 2011. The week long programs offer young people and their adult chaperones the opportunity to do mission work in communities throughout the Northeast. Residential projects include yard work, painting, stair and porch repair, handrail installation, window repair and construction of handicap access ramps for elderly, handicapped individuals and residents in need.
