Martin is different from the other children in the apartment buildings. He is handicapped. He cannot walk and think as fast as other children, and they make fun of him. But Martin is not sad. He loves Aurora, the reddish-brown horse on which he can ride. One day Aurora breaks out of the corral and Martin rescues her. For the first time, the children understand and respect Martin.
