2013 One on One Schedule and Pastoral Evaluation

Good afternoon!

Spring has sprung in Rhode Island!  Flowers are blooming, trees blossoming, and returning birds are filling the air with their songs.

 

With that thought in mind, I am writing to share with you the 2013 Congregational and Pastoral Evaluation that is to be completed by both parties prior to the one-on-one sessions beginning in June. Some of the questions will look familiar while others are brand new. The questions aim to stimulate reflection and visioning.  Please don’t answer simply “yes” or ‘no”. It is an opportunity for the SPRC and pastor to sit together and examine the seeds of faith that have been planted and what type of fruit or flower they are producing.  It is a time to reflect on your relationship with Christ and the movement of the Holy Spirit within the pastor and congregation. This is not another report to be completed but rather a window through which each congregation can see God’s creative hands at work and where weeds need to be pulled in order for the good plants to produce even more fruit.  

 

Consider the conversations around these questions as a valuable forum for talking about what is happening, dreams and goals for the future, and how I can assist to help you and the congregations you serve live into those visions. One area of vital interest to me is how you are balancing the boundaries of Sabbath, family, spiritual formation and work. I urge you to reflect on this question individually and with your SPRC and come prepared to talk about it.

 

I know that each of you has a busy schedule so I am asking you to submit the evaluation at least two weeks before our meeting. This will allow me to prayerfully consider your words and be prepared to make meaningful contributions to our discussion. Sue has sent out tentative dates directly to each pastor. Once the schedule has been confirmed she will post it on the district website: www.neumc.org/risem. 

 

Pastor, if you have not yet submitted an I-9 Form please complete it and bring the required documentation as stated on the form.  The form can be found on the conference website: http://www.neumc.org/forms/detail/920
