Early Response Disaster Training
Did you know that one major aspect of the United Methodist Church's ministries is in responding to disasters (i.e. United Methodist Committee on Relief or UMCOR)?  Did you also know that UMCOR seeks to train persons in local churches, districts, and annual conferences to stand ready to respond locally in the event of natural and other disasters?  Did you know that more than 50 people have been trained as Early Responders in the New England Conference in just the past few months?

We are also looking for persons who might be willing to be trained in this area of ministry.  Specifically we are seeking volunteers who would serve as coordinators in disaster response ministries in our districts in the New England Conference.  Working with the Conference Disaster Response Coordinator, the Volunteer in Mission and Early Responder Team Coordinator, and the Assistant to the Bishop, these district persons would be UMCOR trained and would serve as links between local church/district efforts and the conference.
