Fee: $35.00 ($20.00 for BASIC Youth Course)

Description of Courses
Lay Speaking Ministries - Basic Course ($35.00)
The Lay Speaking Ministries Basic Course focuses on the many ways lay speakers are called to be in ministry. Completion of the Basic Course is required for Lay Speaker certification.
Youth Basic Lay Speaking Course ($20.00)
The Lay Speaking Ministries Youth Basic Course encourages and provides training for youths to claim the ministries to which God is calling them.
Lay Speakers Tell Stories - Advanced Course ($35.00)
You will learn what constitutes a good story, discover your storytelling style, learn the techniques of effective storytelling, and practice creating stories from your own experiences.
Grow Spiritually Through Daily Discipline - Advanced Course ($35.00)
You are guided in discerning God’s direction for your lives, practicing daily disciplines and reaching out in love.
Lead Bible Study - Advanced Course ($35.00)
This advanced course is designed to help you become versed in how to teach and lead a Bible study.

Important Reminder: A refresher course is required every three years to remain a Local Church Lay Speaker. To become a Certified Lay Speaker and serve outside your local congregation, you must take one advanced course and continue by taking at least one advanced course every three years. All Local Church and Certified Lay Speakers must submit an annual report of activities to their respective charge conference.

About Lay Speaking Classes
Lay Speaking classes are divided into two categories. The Basic Course provides the initial required training to become a local church lay speaker and Advanced Courses for certified lay speakers or for those wishing to move from Local to Certified. However, one does not have to be a lay speaker to participate in an Advanced Course. These courses are available for audit purposes. To become a local lay speaker, one must take the Basic Lay Speaking Course. A refresher course is required every three years to remain a Local Church Lay Speaker. To become a Certified Lay Speaker and serve outside your local congregation, you must take one advanced course and continue by taking at least one advanced course every three years. All Local Church and Certified Lay Speakers must submit an annual report of activities to their respective charge conference.
