Reclaiming Social Holiness for United Methodists

Please join us for a 2-day event and training on Friday March 27 and Saturday March 28, 2009, at First UMC in

The event is sponsored by the Church and Society Committee of the New England Conference, the Board of Church and Society of the Troy Conference, MFSA of New England, and the General Board of Church and Society, and is designed to:
- Rekindle the movement of social holiness for United Methodists
- Connect those who are passionate about moving the church into the ministry of peace and justice
- Resource individuals and congregations toward the ministry of social justice in their context
Workshops
In addition to the worship and plenary sessions, participants can select two (2) workshops. Workshop choices include topics such as faith-based community organizing, environmental justice, justice for immigrants, addiction and recovery ministries, justice in the Middle East, and more!

Friday, March 27

--7:00 pm to 9:15 pm: Opening Worship and the first keynote: Social Holiness: A Justice of the Common Good
Saturday, March 28
--8:00 am: Continental Breakfast
--8:45 am: Gathering in Prayer and Praise
--9:00 am to 10:00 am: The second keynote speech: Social Holiness: The Craft of Justice
--Break
--10:30 am to noon: The first set of workshops
--Noon: Lunch
--1:00 pm to 2:30 pm: The second set of workshops
--2:30 to 3:30pm: Wrap up and closing worship with Bishop Peter Weaver
