Special Session 2006

The New England Annual Conference met in Special Session on Sept. 30, in order to:

  1. Consider and act upon our 2007 Annual Conference Budget, 2007 Pastor�s Health Insurance Premium Co-Payment, and
  2. Consider and act upon Conference Rules changes from the Rules Committee, and
  3. To share creative ways to communicate and interpret with our local churches the life changing, world changing impact that ministries and mission supported by our budget will have.

The Special Session was held at the Timberlane Regional Performing Arts Center in Plaistow, NH.

Budget and Mission Shares Information

Bulletin Insert

  • Answering God's Call Together.  Explains apportionments, and lists the 3 Funds and the ministries they support. Local churches can download and copy this document for use as a bulletin insert, a handout for church council or other committee meetings, or general information for the congregation.

 

Presentations

  • 2007 Budget Presentation (available soon). An updated copy will be available when the Amendments made during the Special Session have been included.
  • UMCOR/New England Flood Relief. Reviews the ongoing flood relief effort, and the difference that United Methodists are making in responding to the emotional, physical, financial, and spiritual needs of those affected by the New England Floods of 2006.
  • Resource Library. Overview of the vast resources available at no charge to local churches. Includes a case study of Gales Ferry UMC's use of the resource library for their Adult Sunday School class.
  • Natural Church Development. Brief review of the Natural Church Development program, and how it can help -- and is helping -- New England churches grow.
  • Camping Ministries/Mission Projects. Overview and testimonies of the impact of Camp Mission Projects on the lives of those served, and of those serving.
  • Youth Presentation. Highlights and updates from Youth Ministry activities throughout the Conference.
  • Together for Tomorrow. How one church is using its local share to support additional mission and ministry.
