Brady, Janis

April 23, 2005

Janis Brady, wife of Ray Brady, died Saturday, April 23, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Janis was active in local church leadership in United Methodist churches for many years. Her husband, Ray, is active in the UMC at the local, district, and conference levels. Prayers for the family are appreciated. This note is sent by Ray Brady: Dear Friends in Christ; Saturday, my wife Janis left this life as a result of the head injuries incurred in the car accident of March 30. I will miss her so much. Thank you so much for the prayers and support over the past three and a half weeks. Your presence and messages were what both of us needed in this journey. And I will be getting to each of you and thanking you individually as time permits. At this time, we are planning memorial services in two locations in New England. We will have a memorial service at Gouldsboro UMC here in Gouldsboro ME on Wednesday, April 27 at 1pm, and another service at Memorial UMC in Avon CT, (just west of Hartford CT) on Monday, May 2 at 1pm. Burial will be in our family plot west of Salina, Kansas later in the week. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Janis? name to either the Brain Injury Association of America, 8201 Greensboro Dr. Suite 611, McLean VA 22102, or to Gouldsboro UMC, PO Box 101, Prospect Harbor ME 04669. Again, without your support, I do not know what I would have done these last three weeks. Thank you so much. But, more importantly, the consolation of our God that I earlier shared with you via Pastor Maria Guereca is really what sustained me. Psalm 24:1 and Matthew 26:39 is what our existence is really about, and that is what today?s journey is about. I do not know the ?why? of this yet, but hopefully I will understand someday? Thanks again. Shalom, Ray Brady,
