Stewardship: Conversations with Ken Sloane

Want to get excited about Mission Shares? Want to learn about stewardship from an expert? Here’s your chance – or rather, chances.

The Rev. Dr. Ken Sloane, Director of Stewardship at Discipleship Ministries, will be in New England in early May to lead open conversations with clergy and laity about stewardship, generosity, and Mission Shares. Click the links for details and registration information for each event.

About Ken Sloane


The Rev. Dr. Ken Sloane has been Director of Stewardship at Discipleship Ministries since October 2011. Dr. Sloane helps congregations determine effective ways of giving, as well as embracing stewardship of all areas of life within a discipleship system.

Dr. Sloane served as Director of Communication Ministry at United Methodist Communications from 2006-2011, working with the denomination’s Rethink Church campaign, online and face–to-face communications training and Denominational Giving.

Dr. Sloane is a member of the Greater New Jersey Annual Conference, where until 2006 he served as Director of Connectional Ministries. He previously was pastor at three congregations, including a new church start, for a total of 20 years. Sloane received a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications and theater from Hofstra University and both his Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees from Drew University.
