The Martin Luther King Action Team of Nauset Interfaith Association, the Criminal Justice Department of Cape Cod Community College, and community police leaders are co-sponsoring a Cape-wide community police forum on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017 in Hyannis, MA.
The forum, titled “Cape Cod: Making It the Best Place for all of Us,” will include small group sessions on homelessness, mental health, opioids, youth, and community-police relations.
Keynote speaker is criminologist Dr. George Kelling, professor emeritus in the School of Criminal Justice at Rutgers University - Newark, a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute for Police Research and former fellow at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. He previously taught at Northeastern University in Boston and helped to create a program with United Methodist urban ministries that partnered youth with neighborhood police to solve problems in their community.
