In celebration of the diversity of Christian expression around the world, the New England Conference is once again sending a delegation of laity and clergy to South Korea for a spiritual pilgrimage from Oct. 15-22, 2018.

It has been more than 130 years since the protestant faith was brought to Korea, and this spiritual pilgrimage offers the unique opportunity to see how Methodism helped to define a distinctly Korean-Christian spirituality out of Korea’s painful history of subjugation.

This exciting and spirit-filled journey is a unique opportunity to understand and learn from the missionary spirit, evangelical zeal, radical hospitality, and deep prayer lives of the Korean Methodist Church.

Participants will fly to South Korea, stay at a mission-centered church, participate in daily spiritual practices, attend lectures, visit churches and museums, hear testimonials, and do some sightseeing.

Laity and clergy from the New England Conference of The United Methodist Church are invited to apply. We particularly encourage applications from young adults and lay people who feel moved by God to make this spiritual pilgrimage. Space is limited.

The cost is $1,500 and includes airfare and gifts and donations to any mission sites we may visit. Rooms, meals, transportation (including to and from the airport) and fees during the trip are all covered by the BuPyeong Methodist Church. You may want to bring money for shopping and sightseeing.

To apply, please send a letter explaining why you would like to go on the pilgrimage to bishopsoffice@neumc.orgDeadline is Nov. 20, 2017.
