Roxbury, MA - The Board of Directors of the Hattie B. Cooper Community Center (Cooper) announced today that it has named Kevin A. Fusco as its new Executive Director. Mr. Fusco brings to Cooper an impressive track record of serving and growing family focused organizations. He previously served as Chief Operating Officer for Jumpstart for Young Children during its formative growth phase and spent the last 8 years expanding The Children’s Workshop into one of the regions larger providers of child care services.
“We interviewed numerous and exceptional candidates,” said Linda Reiber, Cooper’s Board Chair, “and found Mr. Fusco the ideal person to lead Cooper into its next century of serving the children and families of Roxbury.” Ms. Reiber went on to say that “The Cooper Board looks forward to working closely with Mr. Fusco and the dedicated staff of Cooper to continue to expand Cooper’s services to the children and families of Boston.”
“I can only say that I am honored to join such a prestigious organization and such a committed staff,” said Kevin Fusco. “It is rare these days to find an organization so good at what it does and so vital to the community that it has thrived for 95 years,” continued Mr. Fusco, “and from what I have already seen, I am confident that it will continue to serve this community for decades to come.”
Cooper was founded in 1916 and has been serving the Roxbury community continuously since that time. Currently, it provides high quality child care services for infants through school- age and is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
