Rev. Edgar J. Helms, retired elder, died peacefully at home on Sunday, May 12, 2013 at the age of 92. Rev. Helms served churches in Massachusetts including Newton: Lower Falls-Wellesley, Wellesley: Christ, Milford, Springfield: Wesley, and Westfield: First; he was also the Chaplain at the Belchertown State School. Rev. Howard Benson, retired pastor from Bangor, Maine, died peacefully on May 1st. A service in celebration of his life will take place on Friday , May 10th, at 10am at the Old Town United Methodist Church. Howard served churches in Dexter, Kittery, Old Town, and Brewer, Maine and served as DS on the Northern District of the former Maine conference from 1976-1981.
