A Basic Lay Servant Class for Youth will be held March 18, April 1, and April 8, 20017.  All UMC youth in Grades 9-12 are invited to participate and would need to attend all three Saturday classes, 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.  The classes are being held in conjunction with the CMA District classes at the First UMC, 34 Felton Street in Hudson, MA.  Registration is $45 and the deadline to sign-up is March 4.

This Lay Servant course will help youth understand their faith, and call to ministry as laity or ordained clergy. The course is designed to encourage young people to claim the ministries to which they are called and provide training in those ministry areas.

Local churches are encouraged to help support interested youth for classes. Registration forms for classes require the signature of a parent, the senior pastor, and the chairperson of the Administrative Council/Board.

Upon receipt of registration, students will be mailed text, required reading for first class assignment, a Code of Conduct form, and items needed to be brought to the first class.

A registration form is attached.  If you have any questions about this course, please contact Debi Henry, Director - NEUMC Lay Servant Program for Youth at  neumcyouth@yahoo.com or (508) 651-0256.
