Prayers are coveted for Sophia Harrell, spouse of Conference Lay Leader Oscar Harrell. Sophia has been in the ICU at Emerson Hospital in Concord, MA since Monday. A diagnosis of meningitis has been confirmed. Treatment continues and she is stable. Please continue to keep Lee and Elaine Smith in your prayers. Elaine has cancer and has stopped chemotherapy treatments. This week, their niece, Tiffany Cairo-Freeman died at Maine Medical from Cystic Fibrosis. She was 28 years old. Her funeral will be at the Elliott UMC this Sunday at 12 noon. A reception will follow.

The conference office has been notified that Martha Uhlinger, surviving spouse of The Rev Paul Uhlinger, died on December 27, 2009. No other details were available. Please keep Martha's family in your prayers.

Shirley Helms, spouse of Rev. Edgar Helms, died on February 20, 2010. A service celebrating her life will be held on April 23 at 2 p.m. at the Round Pond United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Miles Home Health and Hospice, 35 Miles St., Damariscotta, ME 04543. Please keep the Helms family in your prayers.
